🌿 Healing & Half a Thyroid

The body always keeps score. I knew something was off. I just kept digging until I got answers.

I do all the things.🤷🏾‍♀️

I read the labels. I Yuka the ingredients. I juice. I stretch. I sip from a glass water bottle.

So when I found out I had a tumor in my thyroid, I was stunned.

Not because I thought I was untouchable, but because I truly thought I was doing everything right.

Turns out, healing doesn’t always follow logic.

It follows alignment, surrender, and listening to your body.

One and a half weeks after surgery

Benign tumor. Follicular adenoma. Removed from the left side of my thyroid.

Thank God I found that out after it was out of my body! I knew something was off. I could feel it.

Now I’m on the other side of surgery, still processing it all. Physically, emotionally, energetically.

And yet… here I am.

Was it something I did or didn’t do?

Who knows.

But what I do know is this:

This body of mine is wise. And she’s healing in her own divine timing.

Wait… WTH!!?? I keep going there.

If you’ve ever asked yourself “What did I do wrong” after a diagnosis, you’re not alone.

Here’s what I’ve learned.

Benign tumors like follicular adenomas can be triggered by:

• Hormonal shifts

• Nutrient imbalances

• Chronic inflammation

• Environmental toxins

• Genetics

• Suppressed emotions

That about covers everything! So dwelling on it definitely isn't it!! Sometimes it’s not about what caused it. It’s about what your body is asking you to release.

This felt deeper than just a growth.

It’s like something needed to be cleared to make space.

Maybe I needed to reconnect with my voice.

Maybe I needed to stop tolerating things that don’t align.

Maybe this was my body’s way of saying, “Speak up. Clear it out. Begin again.”

Healing Check In: What I’m Monitoring Now

Labs I’m Watching

• TSH

• Free T3 and Free T4

• Reverse T3

• TPO and TGAb

• Vitamin D

• Ferritin, B12, Folate

• Iodine, Zinc, Selenium

• CRP and ESR

Follow Up Rhythm

• Annual thyroid ultrasound

• Labs every six to twelve months

• Symptom journaling: mood, energy, cycles, skin, digestion

Because healing isn’t just data.

It’s also about tuning in to your body’s subtle cues.

My Healing Flow

Scar Care

• Castor oil to keep the area soft and nourished

• Silicone patches to fade that little line

• Gentle massage to show my neck some love

Lymph Support

• Dry brushing

• Neck massage

• Mineral rich hydration

• Gentle movement on my vibration plate

Movement Matters

I’m easing back in slowly. Outdoor walks, mindful treadmill runs, and stretches to get things flowing.

I love my Peloton treadmill for walk and run workouts. I also have the bike, but right now it’s all about listening to what feels gentle and grounding.

My yoga mat is calling too. I’m certified to teach, but I haven't been. Maybe that’s part of what this season is preparing me for. Movement that starts with me.

Sweat Sessions

Once I’m ready and cleared, I’ll be back in my sauna blanket. Low temp. Short sessions. Just enough to support my lymph and reset my nervous system.

My Mostly Daily Holistic Lineup

This isn’t a strict routine.

It’s a rhythm. Here’s what I reach for most days:

• Matcha or green tea

• Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

• Kombucha

• A plate with sweet potatoes and greens

• Sauerkraut or something fermented

• Avocado every single day

• Hummus, eggs, sometimes salmon

• Non-dairy milk

• Sourdough or gluten free bread

What I skip

• Red sauce

• Spicy foods

• Raw onions

• Most dairy

• Processed anything

And always:

Organic everything. People say it doesn’t matter, but I’m not tryna find out.

Sweet (But Still Me) Treats

When I want something sweet, I keep it simple and satisfying:

• Coconut yogurt with frozen blueberries and pumpkin seeds

• Dates paired with walnuts

It’s giving creamy, cold, crunchy, caramel-y. Double yum.

Just a Juice Tease

My cold pressed juicer has been working overtime, and honestly, I love it.

I keep it mostly green. Think spinach, chard, cucumber, celery, pears, apples, and ginger. And of course, beets.

No detailed recipes here yet, but just know that I’m always mixing for glow, balance, and hormone support.

Prosecco Who

I love bubbles. But Prosecco hasn’t been loving me back.

Kombucha though? Tart, fizzy, and satisfying. And my gut is so much happier.

And About My Vibe

I’m slightly boujie in the cutest way.

Give me glass water bottles.

The organic everything aisle.

A waterless skincare routine.

And the belief that healing is beautiful, not just clinical.

Little reminder that healing doesn't mean hiding🤎

I’m still in my well paying corporate job, but I feel the shift.

I’m ready to live louder, freer, and more aligned. In my truth, my purpose, and my full wellness girl energy.
